Medical Biostatistics Course successfully launched

The 2-days course entitled Medical Bio statistics Course was officially launched. The program was formally opened by  Dr. Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Meman, Consultant Clinical Pharmacist, this course is organized by the Department of Education, Training and Research of PSCCQ. More than 30 participants are in attendance from different hospital in the Qassim Region.

Dr. Ahmed Al Meman warmly welcome all the participating health workers to the Medical Bio statistics Course. In his opening speech, Dr. Ahmed Al Meman said that the center aims to uplift the education and training of all health workers. He is hopeful that this kind of activity will be a positive reinforcement to all the participants to further enhance their knowledge and skills. He wishes that whatever the attendees have learned, they will use it and provide better service.

The medical statistical course intended to increase the awareness regarding the different statistical modalities and the best way for clinical implementation. It further discussed how to analyze and criticize data sets to obtain a satisfactory conclusion to optimize the clinical routine practice.

The audience include all the health practitioners either from the academia or the hospitals such as physicians, pharmacists, nurses, technicians, and others.

The course entail of 7 lectures and 7 workshops, with a focus on Minitab™ uses. It started with the different types of clinical studies and the level of evidence of each. Followed by pictorial, and inferential  statistics. Sample size, statistical tests, and p-value were all discussed thoroughly with several application based on Minitab.

This activity has been approved by the Saudi Commission for health Specialties for 8 CME Hours.
