The Prince Sultan Cardiac Center’s Department
of Change Management Communication and Awareness recently released a brief
awareness video by Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Mokhlif. This is in relation to the
ongoing awareness campaigns facilitated by the center with the hope of tell and
awakening the people with medical information.
The said video with Dr. Abdulaziz
Al-Mokhlif as the speaker/lecturer has tackled on severe colds that may incur
or increase the patient's heart rate especially those with narrowed coronary
arteries. This case may oftentimes lead to heart attack. More so, for
patients with heart failure, severe colds may develop weakness and a decline
in the function of the heart's muscle, thus causing the fluid to accumulate
in the body and lungs.
The said video was also
substantiated with several messages and advises that urge the people not to
take the cold weather for granted. Dr. Mokhlif advised the people to wear
proper and sufficient clothes during cold weather to keep the body warm and
to avoid body fatigue. For the elderly especially those who are paralyzed or
unable to move, they are advised to take their medicines as prescribed by
their respective doctors.
