Prince Sultan Cardiac Center in Al-Qassim successfully performed a cardiac catheterization operation through widening the pulmonary valve of a patient in her thirties and in her fifth month of pregnancy. This is considered to be one of the rare operations ever conducted in the region. Despite the delicate process and the rarity of this case, the center's medical teams were able to outdo their tasks and made the operation an overwhelming success. To note, the patient was suffering from severe fatigue due to narrowing of the pulmonary artery valve which constitutes a greater risk for the patient herself and the fetus inside her womb. Yet, it was a challenge for the center to prove their willingness and dedication to perform their designated tasks in the best of their capabilities and to substantiate the core essence of their existence as a medical institution.

The center's Medical Director, Dr. Abdullah Al-Qwaee, confirmed that the procedure showed the presence of the severe narrowing of the pulmonary artery valve. Praises to the Almighty Allah  because everything that was set contributed to the improvement of the symptoms, improvement of the blood flow through the pulmonary valve, and the improvement of the blood circulation of both the mother and the fetus. After the operation, the patient was followed up until the stability of her condition. The team is grateful to Almighty Allah for the guidance all throughout the procedure.
