Several
high school students from Riyadh Al-Qassim visited Prince Sultan Cardiac Center
Qassim. They were accompanied by their teachers, Ms. Amal Al-Sa’awi, Ms.Fatima
Al-Omairini, and Ms. Ahd Al-Harbi. The visiting guests were welcomed by
PSCCQ Communication,
Relations & Awareness Administration Manager, Ms. Mariam Al Harbi and Ms.
Yousra Al Ateeq.
The visit aimed to check out the health services offered by
the center and likewise identify the medical services provided to patients
with cardiac disease especially the in-patient children. They also brought
gifts for the children.
The center tour started off at the clinics department. The
students met Dr. Kholoud Al-Qarazi gave the visitors an
orientation and knowledge on the procedures being performed inside Cath
Laboratory. Furthermore, she explains the essential inklings and facts on
what a cardiologist does to children born with heart diseases. Dr.
Al-Qarazi also substantially answered the student’s questions in order to
satisfy their quest for vivid detail information about heart disease.
The students proceeded to pediatric
ICU where they were given a brief overview of how the surgeons perform their
tasks. The knowledge they have learned about surgery was fully comprehensible
as the students were able to witness the patients who have undergone surgery.
The
students got the chance to personally met Dr. Ali Al-Akhfash, a Pediatric
Cardiac Consultant. He explained the services provided by their department in
the treatment of patients who mostly need them.
All along the tour, the visitors were joined and assisted
by the Director of Communication, Relations and Awareness,
Ms. Mariam Ghaleb Al-Harbi. She expressed her sincere gratitude to
everyone especially to the school’s leader, Ms. Ather Solaiman Al Fouzan for
realizing this kind of rare exposure for teachers and students in which they
were able to learn how patients are cared and treated at PSCCQ.
The visit left an overwhelming joy and happiness for the
students because the experience of visiting medical institutions such as
PSCCQ can rarely happen. On the other hand, the PSCCQ administration and
staff were also content in assisting and helping the students during the visit. The
student's visit was sensibly spent by boosting the patient's morale through
gift giving and sending wishes for their speedy recovery.
