Doctors at the Prince Sultan Cardiac Center Qassim managed to
rescue a patient who had been in the emergency department of King Fahd Specialist
Hospital. The 42 years old patient was complaining of chest pain while in the
emergency room and suddenly the patient loss his consciousness. The team in
the department immediately started performed CPR for 25 minutes and hereafter
the patient regain his consciousness.
The patient was then immediately
brought to the Cardiac Cath Laboratory wherein Dr. Murtada Hussein Cardiologist
Consultant, said that the medical team of PSCCQ decide to performed Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) a non-
surgical procedure used to treat narrowing (stenosis) of the coronary arteries
of the heart found in coronary artery disease. Thereafter the patient was transferred to CCU
and stay for 8 days for further treatment and observation. The patient has responded well with the treatment and was
discharged from the hospital completely fine. The patient was advised to come
after 1 month.
It is worthy to note that this kind of
success happened when you have skilled and well trained staff to handle this
kind of situation.
