The custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, issued a Royal Decree last Saturday, May 7, 2016, appointing Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al Rabiah as the new Minister of Health. This is in connection with the major changes they have made to Saudi Arabia's ministries by reorganizing and reshuffling the members of the government.

Dr. Al Rabiah was considerably chosen because of his exemplary qualifications and credentials. He had proven so much as evidently manifested in the many agencies and areas he has worked and rendered his service. He was once the former Saudi Minister of Commerce and Industry. His profession as a highly respected mentor at the University of Pittsburgh is impressively a plus factor. He has expanded his teaching capability by working as a faculty member at King Saud University. He was also the past Director General of the Information and Communications Technology sector at the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA). Way back April 2007, Dr. Al Rabiah was appointed as the Director General of the Saudi Industrial Property Authority (MODON).

In addition, he became an Acting Deputy Minister of Commerce and Industry and the Supervisor for National Industrial Strategy Institution from April 2010 to January 2012. He has successfully implemented the concept of industrial estates and technology zones, knowing that he was actively involved in the establishments of the said zones in different cities of Saudi Arabia.

Prior to Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al Rabiah's new designation, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud meticulously and intensively made a review on the qualifications and suitability of Dr. Al Rabiah before finally declaring his well-deserved appointment. It simply just proved that the newly-appointed Minister of Health is more than capable to fill the position.
