A Research presented by Dr. Nermeen Abu Al Soud won first prize

A research presented by the Pharmacy Department of Prince Sultan Cardiac Center Al Qassim has received a top award during the 1st International Conference in Clinical Pharmacy in Saudi Arabia held last February 17, 2015 at King Khaled Cultural Center in Buraidah which was organized by Qassim University.

Dr. Nermeen Abu Soud, Clinical Pharmacy Consultant won the first place in the category " Abstract & Case Report Competition". This is in recognition for her research work entitled: " Successful Implementation and Application of Clinical Pharmacy Service in Al Qassim Region". Over 27 scientific papers were submitted for peer review with the winner chosen by a group of outstanding specialist who acted as jurors.

Dr. Nermeen added that the research conclusion is that clinical pharmacy in Al Qassim Region succeeded in detecting and preventing rhabdomyolysis associated with atorvastatin. Further studies examining how clinical pharmacist can help in detecting and preventing adverse drug reaction and drug interaction in Middle Eastern countries are needed.
